CELEBRITY PRESENTERS AND PERFORMERS AT THIS
YEAR'S ACADEMY AWARDS RECEIVE
CONIGLIO CABERNET SAUVIGNON
Los Angeles, February 27, 2006---Coniglio Wines will be included in the 78th Annual Academy Awards gift basket given to the celebrity presenters and performers at the awards ceremony on March 5th in Hollywood.
Celebrity presenters and performers will each receive an elaborate letter-press certificate for an unusual wine and cheese tasting---to be conducted in their homes by Barrie Lynn, The Cheese Impresario. Barrie Lynn is one of southern California's most respected experts on cheeses; she writes a monthly column in The Beverly Hills Times called "Cheese Matters" and is often quoted in Variety as well as the popular food blog, EatingLA, and Ben Adair's Pacific Drift on KPCC 83.9 FM in Los Angeles.
Each tasting will consist only of small-production artisanal wines and cheeses---one of the wines will be Cabernet Sauvignons from Coniglio Wines (www.conigliowines.com). The American artisanal cheese producers> participating are Chef John Folse's Bittersweet Plantation Dairy, Mozzarella Company, Vermont Butter & Cheese Company, Fiscalini Farmstead Cheese and Carr Valley Cheese Company.
Coniglio Wines, based in St. Helena (Napa Valley, California), produces wines from six different sub-appellations within the Napa Valley. Charles E. Coniglio, Steven C. Coniglio and Craig A. Becker founded the company in 2001. Their partnership spans twenty-five years of friendship, family, tradition and triumph-originating in southern California, where Steven and Craig grew up. Their goal is to produce hand crafted single vineyard wines which reflect the uniqueness and express the nuances of Cabernet Sauvignon from each mountain district in the Napa Valley. Currently available are 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon (Spring Mountain), $45; 2002 Cabernet Franc (Napa), $35; 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon (Spring Mountain District), $45; and wines.htm (Atlas Peak), $45---all available from www.conigliowines.com or upon request at fine retail stores and restaurants. To be released later this year will be 2005 Sauvignon Blanc (Napa Valley), 2003 Cabernet Franc (Napa Valley), 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon (Spring Mountain) and 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon (Atlas Peak).
