2004 Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon

Coniglio Wines of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon label imageThe 2004 Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon is dark purple in the glass with a thick, nearly black center, this wine has a complex nose of black cherry, nutty, and floral aromas that shift and change over the course of several hours, eventually settling towards an earthy, dark ripe fruit combination that is very enjoyable. In the mouth it is thick and rich with velvet-feeling tannins enclosing a core of dark ripe plum and black cherry flavors that linger in a very long and satisfying finish.

The nose is packed with blueberries and a toasty mocha balanced with hints of stone fruit. Opulent fruit flavors balance this sophisticated wine with toasty oak and rich supple tannins. The wine is endowed with a symphony of crisp cassis and redcurrant together with a silky elegant finish. This elegant wine can be enjoyed now and will benefit from the accompaniment of full flavored foods or a nice juicy steak. 2004 Cabernet Franc

Coniglio Wines of Napa Valley Cabernet Franclabel imageOur 2004 Cabernet Franc from Napa Valley is the first of many small lot wines that Coniglio Wines will produce. The wine was originally purchased as a blending component for our district wines, but due to its quality we decided to bottle the remaining wine. The aromas are packed with dark berries, spice and cassis. The pallet is rich, yet balanced with smooth tannins and a lingering finish. This is not your typical Cabernet Franc!

The grapes were purchased from Alluvial Vineyard, just north of St. Helena. The vineyard is on the valley floor, yet has well drained soils, thus its name Alluvial Vineyard. The vines are quite old. No one is exactly sure of their age, though there is certainty it is a French clone. Harvest was on the 25th of September. We purchased fruit from approximately 3 acres.

Price: $40 a bottle / $240 a six pack / $480 a case

2005 Sauvignon Blanc Leola

"LEOLA is from the Latin meaning "lioness and women of presence." Our Sauvignon Blanc is named in honor of my mother, Leola, whose uniqueness is commemorated in this wine full of complexity, grown in an alluvial vineyard in Napa Valley and barrel aged to give the
elegance only our artisanally produced wines can achieve. Enjoy!
